Wholesale Bond Paper Supplier Papua New Guinea: A Guide for Importers and Distributors

PNG imports nearly all of its office paper. For importers and distributors, the challenge is finding consistent supply at a landed cost that still leaves a margin. Here is how sourcing from the Philippines works.

Step 1: Define your product mix

Most PNG demand is for A4 in 70 GSM and 80 GSM. Decide which brands your customers ask for and whether you need a mixed load.

Step 2: Request an export quotation

Use our international bulk order enquiry and include your port of destination (Port Moresby or Lae, for example), quantity and preferred brands. The quotation confirms product, price basis, shipping arrangement and documents.

Step 3: Understand freight terms

Orders of 1,600 boxes or more qualify for free international delivery, subject to the confirmed destination, shipping arrangement, customs, duties, taxes and import requirements. The quotation states exactly what the free freight covers, for example up to which point and excluding which local charges.

Step 4: Prepare for customs

As the importer, you handle PNG Customs clearance, duties and GST. A licensed customs broker in Port Moresby or Lae can advise on duty treatment before you order.

Step 5: Plan inland distribution

Highlands deliveries usually go by road from Lae, and island provinces by coastal shipping. Build these costs into your landed price.

Important to know

SAMJUVEN does not have an office or warehouse in PNG. All orders are handled directly from the Philippines. See our Papua New Guinea page for city information.

Pricing in USD for PNG importers

Official prices are in PHP, with approximate USD equivalents at ₱63.47 = US$1 (3 Nov 2026). Standard 80 GSM A4 is about US$9.77 per box and premium about US$9.85. Volume discounts of 5% (from 250 boxes) and 10% (from 1,000 boxes) apply to the product value. Your quotation confirms the currency and final price.

Planning a container order

  • A full container load is usually the most cost-effective way to ship. Ask us to plan the box count to the container.
  • Mix brands and GSMs to match your customers' demand.
  • Orders of 1,600 boxes and above qualify for free international delivery, subject to terms.

Brands PNG buyers commonly request

Reflex Ultra White and Double A are familiar names in the Pacific. Standard-list brands such as PaperOne, Smartist and Hard Copy suit government and school supply at a lower cost per box. Mixed-brand containers are welcome.

Highlands and island distribution

Highlands distributors in Mount Hagen and Goroka usually receive goods via Lae and the Highlands Highway, while island provinces are served by coastal shipping. Keep paper wrapped and protected from rain during inland transport, and store it off the floor on arrival.

Documents to prepare

  • Commercial invoice and packing list from us
  • Bill of lading for the shipment
  • Any additional documents your PNG customs broker requests, confirmed in the quotation
