Bulk Bond Paper Supply Australia: A Procurement Guide for Businesses

Australian buyers call it copy paper rather than bond paper, but the product is the same: A4 office paper, usually 80 GSM. If you're considering importing directly, here is what to plan for.
Specifications
A4 80 GSM is the Australian standard. Define the brand and grade you need, and confirm brightness or other specifications in writing if they matter to your customers.
Calculating landed cost
Landed cost = product price + international freight + insurance + customs broker fees + port and terminal charges + GST and any duty + inland delivery. Get broker quotes for the destination charges before comparing offers.
Customs and trade measures
The importer or a licensed broker clears goods through the Australian Border Force. Some paper products from certain origins have been subject to anti-dumping measures, so check the current status for the specific brand and country of manufacture before ordering.
Freight
Orders of 1,600 boxes or more qualify for free international delivery, subject to the confirmed destination, shipping arrangement, customs, duties, taxes and import requirements. The exact scope is confirmed in the quotation.
Choosing your port
Most cargo enters through Melbourne, Sydney (Port Botany), Brisbane, Fremantle or Adelaide. Choose the port closest to your warehouse. See our Australia page for city notes.
Start with an international bulk order enquiry.
Copy paper specifications Australian buyers ask for
- A4 80 GSM is the national standard. Some buyers also take 70 GSM for internal printing.
- Brightness and whiteness: state the scale if it matters (ISO brightness or CIE whiteness).
- Packaging: confirm reams per box and boxes per pallet for warehouse planning.
USD pricing and discounts
Approximate USD prices: standard 80 GSM A4 is about US$9.77 per box, and premium brands such as Reflex Ultra White and Double A about US$9.85 (at ₱63.47 = US$1, 3 Nov 2026). Discounts of 5% from 250 boxes and 10% from 1,000 boxes apply. Quotations can be issued in USD.
Reflex and other familiar brands
Australian buyers often know Reflex Ultra White. We also quote Double A, Navigator, Chamex and value brands for mixed container loads.
Calculating landed cost in Australia
- Product value in USD or PHP, less any bulk discount (5% from 250 boxes, 10% from 1,000 boxes)
- Ocean freight and insurance, unless included under free international delivery terms
- Destination terminal, port and biosecurity-related charges
- Customs broker fees, GST and any applicable duty or trade measure
- Delivery from the port to your warehouse
Packaging and timber requirements
Australia has strict biosecurity rules for packaging such as timber pallets. Ask your broker which treatment and certification is required, and we'll confirm what can be provided in the quotation.
Who imports copy paper directly?
- Office-supply wholesalers seeking an additional supply source
- Managed-print providers with large contracts
- Education suppliers buying before the school year
- Regional distributors in Darwin, Perth and northern Queensland, closer to Asia
Start with a trial container
Many importers begin with a mixed container covering a few brands and both GSMs, then settle on a regular programme. Submit an international enquiry with your port of destination.
